Your Succulent Has Arrived! Here’s Exactly What to Do Next

Congratulations! You’ve just welcomed a beautiful new succulent into your home. Your plant has been cozy in a dark box during its journey to you, so here’s how to help it settle in and thrive:
1. Unboxing Gently
Carefully remove your succulent from its packaging. Succulents are tough little plants, but be gentle to avoid accidentally breaking leaves or stems.
2. Give It Some Breathing Space
Your succulent has been traveling in darkness, so it might look a bit tired at first. Place it in a bright spot indoors, but avoid direct sunlight for the first week. This helps prevent shock or sunburn.
3. Don't Water
Don’t water for the first few days. After a few days, check the soil. If it’s dry, give it a light drink and then continue on a regular schedule. Why? Risk of rot: During shipping your succulents have been in dark, humid conditions in sealed packaging. Their roots and stems can be more vulnerable to rot if suddenly watered.
Acclimation: A “dry period” lets the your succulent adjust to new light, humidity, and airflow without extra stress.
4. Let It Relax
For the next week, let your succulent chill out in its new spot. Avoid repotting or drastically changing its environment immediately, succulents prefer a gradual introduction to their new home.
After One Week…
Once your succulent has adjusted, gradually introduce it to brighter, indirect sunlight. At this point, you can start watering it according to a regular succulent care schedule.
Enjoy your new Succly friend,
and remember, we’re here if you have any questions along the way!
Happy growing! 🌵✨
