What is Succly?

Succly is a succulent and cacti grower offering a hand curated subscription box delivered straight from our farm in Fallbrook, California. We've been growing beautiful plants for generations on 5 acres, across 10 greenhouses. Whether you're new to succulents or a lifelong fan, we deliver joy in every box.

What do I get in a Succly box?

Each box includes a hand selected variety of two healthy succulents or cacti and care instructions for every plant.

From time to time, boxes may also include limited edition or seasonal themes like rare varieties, color coordinated pairs, or holiday inspired surprises.

How often will I receive my box?

We ship once a month. You'll be billed monthly on the day you sign up, and your box will ship out 2-5 days after each billing date.

When do I need to request a skip, pause or cancel by?

To skip, pause, or cancel your subscription for the month, please do so at least 1 day before your next billing date. You can find this date in your customer portal under Next Charge Date.

Can I buy just one box without subscribing?

We don’t offer single boxes, but we do have a 3-month option. You pay upfront and get one box each month for three months, no subscriptions, no recurring billing, no hassle.

Do Succulents Need Fertilizer?

Yes, while succulents can survive without it, a light feeding of fertilizer during their growing season (spring and summer) helps them thrive with stronger roots and more vibrant colors.
Do not fertilize in fall or winter when most succulents go dormant.
Check out our blog for more detailed information.

How are the succulents packaged for shipping?

We take great care in packaging to make sure your succulents arrive safe and beautiful. Each plant is placed in the box and cushioned with tissue paper and protective filler to prevent movement during transit. Our goal is to make unboxing your Succly delivery just as joyful as the plants inside.

Do you offer replacements for damaged plants?

Yes. If your plant arrives damaged, email customerservice@succly.com within 3 days of delivery with:
• A clear photo of the plant
• Your order number
• A brief note about the issue

We’ll send a replacement or refund, no worries!

Can I skip or cancel my subscription?

We currently ship anywhere within the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Due to plant regulations, we're unable to ship internationally at this time, but we're rooting for it in the future!

Are the plants pet-safe?

Some succulents and cacti may be toxic if ingested by pets. We recommend keeping plants out of reach of curious animals. Specific plant info will be included in each box.

Can I choose what plants I get?

To keep things fun and fresh, we surprise you with a curated selection each month. We will be offering other varieties in larger sizes. Just reach out and ask.

How do I take care of my succulents?

Each box includes simple care instructions. In general, succulents love bright indirect light and minimal water. Don't worry! We'll guide you through it! You can also visit our succly plant care guide where we have more detailed information on each succulent we send.

How do I contact Succly?

You can reach us at customerservice@succly.com , contact us page or call or text us at 920-2-Succly. We're here to help and love hearing from our customers!

Why do the succulents I receive look different from the picture?

Succulents are living plants and just like people each one is unique. Colors change with the season, sunlight and even temperature. Some varieties also have a natural powdery coating called "farina", which can make them look blue or frosty in photos. This coating can rub off during shipping and handling (but comes back with new growth) so your plant might arrive slightly different but its still healthy and beautiful. Each one is unique, and that's a part of it's beauty.

How do I update shipping address or payment information?

Easy peasy! 🌿

Just log in to your Customer Portal. From there, you can:

    •    Update your shipping address so your plants go to the right place

    •    Edit your payment info to make sure your next box is good to go

Changes made before your next billing date will apply to your upcoming box. If you need help, feel free to reach out to us at hello@succly.com we’re always here to help things run smoothly!

Why is there loose soil in my box?

Totally normal, we promise! Since we ship real succulents grown in soil, you might notice a little loose soil inside the box when you unwrap your plants. That’s just from the natural jostling during shipping.

Succulents are meant to stay still and settled, so when they move around in transit, some of their surrounding mix can shift.

Your succulent is still healthy, rooted, and ready to thrive. Just gently brush off any loose soil, and it’ll settle into its new home beautifully

P.S. We like to think of it as your plant’s way of bringing a little bit of the farm to your doorstep. 🌱

What is the Succly Plant Guarantee?

We want you to love your Succly plants! Here’s exactly what our guarantee covers, and what it doesn’t, so you know when to reach out and when your plant is just doing its thing.

What’s Covered

We’ll replace your plant if it arrives with:
    •    Broken stems or crushed rosettes
    •    Dead on arrival (limp, brown, or no signs of life)
    •    Mushy or rotting leaves
    •    Severe root damage (roots completely detached or missing)
    •    Excessive leaf loss (more than just a couple leaves, enough to affect the health of the plant)
    •    Pest infestation on arrival (rare, but covered if documented with photos)

Send us a photo within 72 hours of delivery so we can take care of it right away.

What’s Not Covered

Some things may look unusual at first but are actually normal for succulents. These do not qualify for a replacement:
    •    Loose or spilled soil (plants may shift during transit, just tuck them back in)
    •    One or two missing leaves (doesn’t affect plant health)
    •    A yellow leaf or two
    •    Long stems (normal growth habit, not damage)
    •    Minor cosmetic imperfections such as small scars or blemishes. We call these beauty marks.
    •    Slight color changes from shipping stress (plants settle back in with light and care)
    •    Dry soil (we ship dry on purpose to keep roots safe during transit)
    •    Normal seasonal changes (some succulents go dormant and may look less vibrant for a time)

Why We Do This

Succulents are hardy, but they’re also living things. Our guarantee protects you from actual losses, while also helping you understand what’s just part of a plant’s natural life.

If you’re ever unsure, just send us a quick photo. We’re always happy to help you tell the difference between “shipping mishap” and “totally normal succulent behavior.”

Healthy plants and happy customers are what Succly is all about. 💚

Why are some of my succulents packaged in plastic?

At Succly, we care deeply about both your plants and the planet. That’s why, when extra protection is needed for our most delicate succulents, we carefully selected POF (Polyolefin) shrink wrap instead of traditional plastics.

*Plant Safe: POF contains no harmful chemicals or chlorine, making it safe for your plants (and for you!).

*Eco Friendlier: Unlike PVC, POF doesn’t release toxic fumes and is fully recyclable in many areas.

*Crystal Clear: It keeps your succulents beautifully visible and protected during shipping, while staying soft and flexible.

*Only When Necessary: We only use shrink wrap when a particular plant needs extra care to arrive safely. Many of your plants will ship with no plastic at all!

*We’re also actively researching more biodegradable options for the future!

How Are Spiky Cacti Packaged?

Q: Why is my cactus wrapped in plastic?

A: Great question! We use a clear protective wrap so you can see your cactus right away while still keeping those sharp spines contained. This helps prevent accidental pricks while you’re unpacking and keeps the plant secure during transit. As an added bonus, the plastic we use is recyclable, so please recycle it after unwrapping.

Q: How should I safely unwrap my spiky cactus?

A: Simply unwrap slowly and carefully. You can gently pull the plastic away from the cactus, or use scissors to carefully cut along the edge if you prefer. We recommend holding the pot or using tongs or newspaper if you’re concerned about those tiny spines.

Q: Is the packaging safe for the plant?

A: Absolutely! We make sure the wrap is snug enough to protect, but loose enough to allow airflow and prevent any damage to the plant.

What if my PIY kit cuttings don’t root?

Every PIY Kit comes with our 3-Month Rooting Guarantee. If your cuttings haven’t taken root or died off within three months of delivery, just email or text us a photo of your cuttings and we’ll send you a fresh pack on us.

Please note:

  • Limit one replacement pack per purchase
  • Replacement covers cuttings only

How often are the plants changed in the PIY box?

We change the plants every 3 months, selecting varieties that thrive best during that season. This keeps your PIY box fresh, fun, and perfectly timed for healthy growth.

Why is there moss on my succulent?

We add a layer of moss on some succulents to help them travel safely. During shipping, dry soil can shift or spill out of the pot. The moss acts as a soft cover that keeps everything in place so your plant arrives neat and tidy.

You can leave the moss on or gently remove it, either way is fine. It’s purely for protection during shipping and won’t affect the health of your succulent.

When should I re-pot my succulent after they arrive?

We recommend waiting one week before repotting your succulents. This gives them time to rest and recover from their journey.

During shipping, succulents spend several days boxed up without light or airflow. The succulents just , and the sudden change to new soil, light, and watering can stress them. By letting them settle in their starter pots for a week, you give the roots a chance to breathe, adjust to their new environment, and start growing again before any big changes.

After that rest period, you can gently move them into their new pots with fresh, well-draining soil. Always water sparingly and let the soil dry completely between waterings.
